Butternut Squash Applesauce with Cinnamon Stage 1 Baby Food recipe

Easy, healthy and delicious. This recipe is a great way to sneak another serving of veggies into your little ones day.

Cook Time 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 3 Apples washed, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 Butternut squash washed, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Cinnamon plus more as desired, optional

Instructions

  1. Pour water into a medium to large pot until its about 2" deep

  2. Bring to a boil over high heat

  3. Place chopped butternut squash into the steamer basket

  4. Place the steamer basket into the pot and cover with a lid

  5. Steam for 10 minutes

  6. Add the chopped apples to the steamer basket and cook for another 5 minutes

  7. Turn the stove off and remove the baby food steamer from the pot. Place the cooked butternut squash and apples into a large bowl. Blend until smooth using your Sage Spoonfuls immersion blender

  8. Add desired amount of cinnamon and stir until well incorporated

  9. Serve or store in your Sage Spoonfuls baby food storage jars or reusable baby food pouches
