Pear and Asparagus

This pear and asparagus stage two baby food recipe is a deliciously unexpected combo of savory and sweet. A crisp and refreshing meal for the warm summer months.

This recipe is suitable for babies 7 months and up. Always sure the consistency of your baby’s food is one she can handle and always check food temp before serving.

Pear and Asparagus

  • 2 ripe Barlett pears washed, cored and chopped (no need to peel if organic)
  • 6 medium stalks of asparagus washed and chopped with the rough ends snapped off

  1. Pour water into a pot until it is about 1inch deep and bring to a boil over high heat.

  2. Place the asparagus into your Sage Baby Eco-Steamer and put the steamer into the pot.

  3. Cover with a tight fitting lid and steam for 2-3 minutes.

  4. Put the cooked asparagus and pea into your Sage Baby Puree & Blend food processor and pulse until a mushy mash consistency is achieved.

  5. Remove any extra asparagus fibers from the bowl before serving. A mushy mash is a thicker and lumpier consistency than a smooth stage one puree, just make sure the lumps are soft.

Recipe Notes

  • Pear and asparagus will stay fresh in your Sage Spoonfuls jars or Sage Squeezie for up to 3 days in the fridge and up to 3 months in the freezer.
